I think Milan broke him the same way we broke Wilshere a few years ago. They were so reliant on him after they had sold Ibrahimovic and Silva. It's probably going to take a while until he's back on track with his development. He's lucky he's so young.
Surprising as always heard Milan have a very good medical set up so surprising they would run him into the ground, though like you say after losing those players a lot of responsibility fell onto his shoulders.
If we want him really think now would be a good time to move for him, he obviously has a lot of talent and Wenger rates him. With Milan's financial problems, no CL and him not being in the limelight due to his injuries we won't get a better chance to sign him at a more reasonable price.
The alternatives are Griezmann, Sanchez or Reus. Even if we wait a year for Reus no guarantee he will join us, most clubs in Europe will bend over backwards to sign him. If PSG go for Griezmann we will find it tough to match their offer and who knows if Barca will want to let Sanchez go. Think it would work if we went for a more experienced striker and then more of a project on the wing and project as backup striker.
