If you get to close to Saka he'll turn you and get goal side. The CBs then have to decide if they want to rush out and meet saka or stay with the sticker. We've seen our defence fall apart that way so many times it'd be nice to see it the other way.

Partey, Willock, Saka?

I reckon Partey and Saka (if he's a success there) could work with any of our other CM options as long as only one of the remaining ones play.

I pick that specific option because I want to have the right combination. One guy sitting and two pushing up. And of the two pushing up, I like that Saka is a two way guy who is creative and penetrative and Willock will get you progressive carries. But when we lose the ball, they’ll both have the legs to press. If you have Aubameyang and Pépé on the outside, Nketiah high and Partey back, we should be able to recover balls quickly, and return to offense with that group.

I’m tired of seeing us passing the ball along the back line. I want us to keep pressure up the field with these gazelles.

I'd rather see Martinelli in the starting line-up than Nketiah, but apart from that, agree. Willock is the right type of player, just not sure he's good enough.

Use a combo of signings and loans (even if they had an agreement to buy if/when we regain CL).

Willock looks like he'll follow a normal development curve. Rather than a saka, Rooney, cesc who can process situations abnormally fast. So they always look a step ahead of everyone around them.

Its best for willock if he gets a loan rather than has tons of poor performances here to the point fans loose patience with him. He looks 2-3 years away from being what we need. He's only played 20 games he's 20 we can't expect him to get us into the top four.

That could work as well.
My preference for Nketiah is that he looks like he could be a bit more selfless. Martinelli is a shark who will go for the kill up top, and could isolate the wings. You see that a bit with Jesus at City. He isn’t as great bringing in the wide forwards.

You can probably support him next to Partey and Saka. What you can’t do is support him next to Xhaka and Ceballos. The first is flawed and the second has to iron out his offensive game

Its a lot to ask of partey to mind Saka and willock. Who don't have 30 games in midfield between them.

Experienced teams would eat us for breakfast.

Well not that it's happening, but with Martinelli, Pepe and Auba in the frontline then Martinelli is my preferred wide forward.

As we are in a market for a DM, it would be travesty to not try for Allan.

He is certainly on his way out of Napoli after burning his bridges with Di Laurentis and even Gattusso.

He is 29 but even if we can get 3 good years from him, it will be worth it.

TBH I'm not sure Arteta would play PEA as CF as it would need us to change both the CF role and how we play in attack.

He's already here, just on loan. ;D

My concern re Ceballos is he seems to lack pace in recovery like everyone of our current midfield starters - Xhaka, Guendouzi, Torreira etc.
Ideally I don't want more than 1 such player in any area of the team, same as I don't want more than 1 potential brain fade merchant or does not do defense = we have too many passengers in different aspects and areas.

We haven't had a team fit for purpose since The Invincibles.

I know we mentioned this a couple months ago, but if Watford are going down we should be readying a play at Doucoure or Sarr. If somehow West Ham go down, those centre backs.

I'm wondering about Doucoure - do we take him given how well Willock is acquitting himself? Or do we go for more of a 10 and toss all our money there after nailing Partey? Thoughts?
