Think Håland is a very good talent, but I'm not too sure about this. I think we have some good talent coming through in Eddie and Martinelli already, and if we're thinking about replacing Auba within 6-18 months we need to go for more bang, not a guy who's two tiers below him. Basically we need someone readymade, not more potential.

Don't think there's much in the rumour anyway. He's visited more placed than just us, he was at United's training ground as well for example. We wouldn't pay up for him unless Martinelli is thought about as a winger, which I should hope he isn't.

Edit: Oh and by the way, this isn't one of those cases where media/people write his name "Haaland" because they can't bother using "å". His name actually is Haaland.

Interesting! 🙂 I'm not disputing you, but I actually wikied it earlier to make sure, and they use an å on Wikipedia. I'm almost certain the newspapers always wrote his daddy's name like 'Håland' too back in the day. Did they legally change it to an anglicised form or something?

Yeah. Norwegian Wikipedia has got it right, but the international one hasn't changed it.

Getting these young guys in is great I'm all for it. But we have to remember CM take ages to settle in the prem Wijnaldum looks great now but he was a flair player in holland. Developed a lot at newcastle and finally at liverpool. We've seen here at chelsea and United that CM find it difficult. If were going for these young guys we could really do with xhaka and Torreira sticking round.
These youngsters could be 4-5 years away from being what we need them to be.

What's sad is he's good but he's not as good as that kid at Bayern. I watched Gnabry against Northern Ireland last week. The kid was incredible. His movement in the box, his speed of mind and finishing are all top decile. He's going to be better than all the Manchester City attacking mids.

Sancho has been a petulant pest for a couple of weeks, Favre was perfectly within his rights to sub him off after 30 minutes vs Bayern. Apparently whenever his father is not in Germany with him he starts acting up like this. He's highly talented but not remotely worth the 150m or so it'll cost to pry him from Dortmund.

Yes please to Mings. I'm not so keen on Neves because I don't think he's the kind of midfielder we need; also think he's a bit overrated because he scores more than his fair share of long rangers. Partey is more the style of player we need in there, but I have a nagging doubt about just how good he is also. I'd take him though, if it were doable.

Everything I saw of Sancho in following him in youth football suggested to me that he is a petulant cocky, little shit. The image of him in the interviews he has done for the BBC both as an England and Dortmund player have presented a nice humble kid: he ain't.

Obviously, I rate his talent very highly, but I've been waiting for him to show what I consider to be his true colours in Germany and here we are.

Put them both in the same midfield and we're golden. It's a bit pointless to just sign half of a working midifield base when we need a full working midfield base though. We've gone so long without really addressing this too. We should have gotten a Xhaka replacement last summer instead of fucking around. Torreira was never that player.

Agree. We need 2 midfielders and they arguably need to be our 2 best midfielders. Guendouzi is a massive talent but he's 20 and massively over played. Let 2 new boys be the main men with Douzi, Torreira and Willock for rotation and back up. Douzi and Torreira should be fighting each other for a spot, not the 2 main players in our midfield.
