My current muppet dream

In: Badiashile, Hakimi, Ndidi, Szoboszlai, Ousmane Dembele, Haaland
Out: Auba, Laca, Ozil, Xhaka, Mustafi, Chambers, AMN, Kolasinac, Sokratis, Elneny, Mkhitaryan, Mavropanos

That would leave the team like this:
GK: Leno, Martinez/Macey
CB: Saliba, Badiashile, Holding, Luiz
FB: Hakimi, Tierney, Bellerin, Osei-Tutu (maybe?)
DM: Ndidi, Torreira
CM: Guendouzi, Szoboszlai, Willock, Smith-Rowe, Azeez (maybe?)
WF: Pepe, Dembele, Nelson, Saka
CF: Haaland, Martinelli, Nketiah

I'm not sure if this team would necessarily be genuinely good for the 20/21 season (that would require youngsters stepping up at both CB and CM), but it would certainly be fun. I would definitely expect this team to genuinely be in the mix for the 21/22 season and pretty much all subsequent foreseeable seasons, though.

I reckon Marco Rose would be a good coach for that muppet team. He was a hot commodity at Salzburg but it wasn't really clear to what extent he was just riding Rangnick's coattails. Based on his work at Gladbach so far, he seems like the real deal. Also, that muppet team is equally well-suited to play 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2, which would suit Marco Rose well.

Rose plays 4312 which means he wouldn't be using the likes of Pepe or Dembele, let alone the likes of Saka or Nelson etc.
He'd suit the current squad better, but possibly not our nextgen.

Further to this if we are selling so many players, why rebuild based upon a 4231 unless you really want to do so?
IMO an inverted midfield 3 gives more options.

Our Home form these past 2 seasons has been good enough to have us 3rd and making it a top3 rather than a top2.
As such my optimism was based upon improving our Away form to no more than the top6 average in order to secure 3rd place.
However now we're just shit both Home and Away with our Home form matching our Away form rather than visa versa.

Rose plays with no wingers because he doesn't have any at the moment, everyone's out injured. He used them plenty at Salzburg

Ultras recently broke into a number of players houses, including Allan's, following a rift between the players and Napoli's president. There might be an opportunity to lure one or two away, and maybe not just Allan. I never thought Insigne would leave that club, but if he's on collision course with the ultras... his wife has apparently fled Naples too.

Although I think if there was a mass exodus we should just go for Koulibaly.

While being the best in the world, Koulibaly is now 28. I’d rather take the opportunity to rebuild the team with one of the sexy young French things to go with our very own Saliba

No way I'd sell everyone at the club to fund Koulibaly. 28 is nothing in defender ages Ramos is still top 10 in the world and hes 34 soon.

Problem is thanks to Gazidis our financial situation is very fucked up. It would be great to have Koulolias but we also need to just build our asset base. We will hopefully play our most valuable player til his value is fully depleted. And then elsewhere we have a mixed bag of assets. That’s why I want a younger defender who will retain or grow value
