He's a really good defender. Switches off a little bit here and there but he's still only 26. Aside from his awesome physical qualities, he really does seem to take charge and lead that Villa defence.

This clamouring for Mourinho is really weird, dodgy at best links and it's not even like there are no other options. Like having a bad breakup with your gf and just to show everyone you're over her turning gay all of a sudden

Is Mings really that good? I don't watch much Aston Villa, but I feel like this happens to every English defender who has a decent season recently. Keane, then Tarkowski, then Dunk and now Mings.

I hear what you’re saying but Mings has a bit more about him. A lot of good qualities there.

I like Mings but it's a non-starter simply because Villa will price him at Maguire-like sums.

If we want to continue our protagonist philosophy and pass out from the back, Soyuncu is absolutely the way to go. Mings is a no nonsense defender and a very good one at that, but already overvalued at 30m this summer.

Soyüncü is also too expensive already. If we want to get any value for our money we need to look elsewhere.

Bundesliga for example, I'd love to see us get Kabak who's easily the bigger talent and embodies the modern centre back - not only good on the ball but loves to drive forward with it. N'dicka is another one I wouldn't mind massively overpaying for

Kind of sucks that there was so much talk about Soyuncu to us before he went to Leicester as well. I got the vibe that we could've had him if we wanted to, but that he's taken steps bigger than what even those who followed him expected.
