Konate's front-foot defending and charging forward to carry the ball up the pitch is good to watch, but at least 3 or 4 times he has been really slow to realise the danger his absence has created when the ball is turned over.

Which Dembele? Barca. I wonder if they would have concerns given that he has missed 36 games with injury last 2 seasons. He’s still young though, and getting muscle injuries, so they will likely persist. Probably a conditioning issue, nothing as perturbing as Umtiti.

Which we don't have. I'm all for getting youth in but the first thing we need in defence is the experienced and quality guy at centre half, then we can talk about bringing in an understudy.

Not really. Kos has been great for us but he's 34 in September and we can already see 2 games a week is too much for him. He's always been a very individual player too, we need a centre half in his prime that can lead the defence, we haven't had that since Mertesacker.
I'd settle for a CB pairing of Saliba and Umtiti (if Umtiti is around £40m, otherwise Manolas)
So now we know our fate I wonder what our wish list looks like based upon 40m & Europa League games - is there even such a thing as a wish list under those circumstances or is it more simply wishing we get the team/squad balanced rather than wishing for any specific individuals?
