Well said Jonesy.
On a related topic: While I do love Koulibaly and think he has a good shout at the best defender in Europe title, I worry that this would be an issue with him to some degree too if he came here (although it would have less to do with the individual class of the player). I know he has become a transfer obsession for some. I think people mostly see the physical attributes when they look at him, but they'd have a shock if they saw just how often and how obscenely high he pushes up the field. How many times has he assisted Insigne that way? And how many times has his short passing ability let him down, leaving him having to race back at top speed to prevent a counter?
The massive transfer fee aside, I'm not sure that someone like him would really sort out our defensive issues. If you buy him it's because you want that extra class in an already organised side, where you're dominant enough anyway to make use of it. I have no doubt he'd be brilliant at Juve or Real for instance. If you want a grounded defender who takes care of the basics, and I think this is where Arsenal is at right now, I feel like there are better and cheaper options though. None of them are 6 ft 5 but they'll get the job done.
