There are good reasons to think that Crystal Palace would be interested in some form of loan arrangement when it comes to Zaha. For instance, Manchester United will get 50 percent of any sell-on fee according to his contract. So even if Palace sell him outright for £80 million - and no one's going to buy him for that sort of cash - they'd only be entitled to half of that.
A better deal with this in mind would be to agree a loan deal with Palace, where they loan him to you for 12-18 months with a £10-15 million loan fee per season. After that a mandatory buyout clause, set at a more reasonable level, kicks in. They'd still end up with £40 million or so while United's cut would be much smaller. We could loan them a player too in return, or maybe throw one into the deal, to make it extra appealing.
