I think that has been the strategy all along so far as not signing any other CBs in the summer, and why Chambers was allowed to depart on loan.
I suspect that this 1st part of the season will be make or break for a number of players, not just in terms of their ability to adapt / improve in the new system, but also in regards to their limitations as players. We have too many players who can only perform if circumstances permit in terms of our own selections and performance, let alone anything to do with the opposition.
