On a manager..
Given that our administration has really only secured players in recent years, and the big buys have all been opportunistic, is that what we should expect for our managerial hunt? That they will not have a structured approach that goes after 3 or 4 managers who adhere to a certain philosophy, but will quickly grab whatever walks past them. Maybe they say "Oh, Emery's out of a job, let's grab him"
It is quite interesting what you say. I feel if it was left up to board of last year, then certainly they would take this approach. I feel that with Sven and Raul on board now, they will make the decision or have a very heavy influence on Gazidis.
The reality is, you cannot plan next season and your transfers without taking the manager into account. You cannot plan around the manager without realising that he has only one year left on the contract. We are stuck in limbo with Wenger. We either give him a new contract or sack him at this point. Allowing him to stick around one more year, with the circus that will be surrounding the club, is not the correct way of doing things.
I suspect a new manager will be the number one priority this summer.
