May be this decade long theory that Arsenal are busy when it's extremely quiet can be debunked?
The simplest reason probably is that we aren't active.
If we do end up with no addition at all, it will be the worst window in the last decade too.
Wenger's had a lot of criminal windows in his time. I'm sure there are at least 5 transfer periods that can match this one in terms of negligence. I'm not alarmed because we're accustomed to this arrogant incompetence.

doubt it. theyre building the team around him. they also already sold kovacic, and i reckon inter fans will go apeshit if they flog icardi in the same window

I would offer Chambers plus £30-35 million for Stones next summer. I'd even let Everton keep him for another year on loan. Can't think of a better way to future proof the defence though. He has looked unreal this season. We'd have a perfect replacement for Kos the day he slows down.
He has a bit of Tony Adams about him.

Stones won't go anywhere he's not going to be first choice next season. He's quality but I could the money to better use.
I reckon he'd be first choice if he joined Everton. Wenger won't do a deal like that but it is something which would appeal to Everton. They'd get good money for their player and a good young talent to take over.
Stones has really stepped up this season, need to be all over this type of player next summer.
Stones looks very good indeed. Given their needs I'd be surprised if United don't go in for him.

Probably, but just loan him back otherwise. The point is that we need to start getting our hands on these type of talents. We've gone for the second or third best option too many times. I like Chambers for instance, but he's not comparable to Stones as far as talent goes.
Stones is amazing. He's been hyped up for a year now and he's delivered pretty consistently - definitely worth 35m.
He's not even a gamble, he'll be 22 years old with three full seasons of experience by the end of the season. And probably will be first choice at the Euros.
I wouldn't have him over Kos or Gabriel, so I don't think he would be first choice here.
