Gundogan and Di Maria are allegedly on their way to Bayern. Gotze didn't even start against Barca even though both Ribery and Robben were out injured. This is happening.

I wonder how good this team would be:

Schneiderlin-Ramsey
Wilshere/Walcott-Özil-Götze
Sanchez

I suspect the answer would be "not as good as one would hope". With that being said, Sanchez at CF means Sanchez doesn't need to track back which means less opportunities for him to fraud things up in the defensive and middle thirds which would be a big benefit to the team. It's a pie-in-the-sky type of formation but I think it's less pie-in-the-sky than most other pie-in-the-sky formations that get posted here.

Gotze always struck me as the central playmaker type (ie where Ozil plays best), is that an outdated view? Would much rather we bought another world class wide player and I don't know if Gotze is one of those.

We can't be buying box-to-box midfielders and creative players. We're too stacked in those areas with Ramsey-Özil-Alexis-Wilshere.

Very much prefer Reus than Gotze. I love Gotze but he is not what we need at the moment.

Just play Sanchez up front and deal with Wilshere when and if he stays fit.

We have zero creative wide players. We're using Aaron Ramsey as our designated wide midfielder right now. Saying we don't need Gotze because we have similar players is extremely reminiscent of when people said we didn't need Ozil because we had similar players when Tomas Rosicky was our first choice #10. A wide playmaker is exactly the type of player that we need.

There's no way in hell that a midfield that has Ramsey next to someone who isn't an out-and-out DM would ever work, though.

I'd settle for Ki if it meant we get to sign Benzema and Gotze.

I'd rather we go hard for Reus. I think he is a better player, and I think he is a lot closer to what we need compared to Götze.

There's quite a few wingers of interest. Cheaper option of El Sharaawy would allow being able to spend big on someone like Vidal or Schneiderlin. Then there's Draxler, Sterling and Gotze who would bring quality to the side but would be expensive.
