I think it looks pretty damn short on goals in my opinion. Plenty of classy footballers, but no one apart from Alexis who actually scores with any sort of frequency in that front 4. Having said that, Götze has scored a few this season, but then you also have to take into account that he has done so playing for the team that is by an absolute street better than any other team in Germany.

Edit - looking at their actual goal output, Götze has scored a bit more than I thought actually. I still prefer Reus though, and that has with playing style to do; he is more direct, and he is a more willing runner off the ball. I think we need those traits. A lot.

I'd prefer to see any of Reus/Griezmann as either WF/CF,
or even El Shaarawy/Pedro.

I also suspect that you'll never get Sanchez to NOT drop deep towards the ball,
but the key could be doing so in the middle where he has clearer/better passing options so as to keep it simple.

We scored 71 league goals this year. There's probably 15-20 more goals in that team than the one we've got right now.

Sanchez wide and Theo (or someone else) upfront makes that formation a million times better.

Also, Goetze is better than Reus in just about any position.

We already have better players than Wilshere in the middle. Formations with him wide are just attempts to shoehorn him in despite not being all that good in that position IMO.

We also have better players than Götze in the middle and wide. I also would like to keep the squad cunt-free after the recent clearouts.

Need to get a CF like Benzema first before talking about wide players.

Rumours Chelsea are going for Falcao, wouldn't mind him with less wages.

Don't know about Falcao but he was very mis-managed by Van Gaal.

I think Van-gaal played him a bit wide and started him when he came. Then dropped him completely and brought him in for sporadic appearances and dumped him in the reserves too.

No surprise that all their forwards were out of form or injured.

Don't think we are getting a striker at all - Wenger will surely persist with Welbeck for one season - try and get him to work on the striker role in pre-season perhaps (for better or worse). Only hope in attack is a LW - if we can't get Reus, then maybe Firmino? He's scored 30-odd goals in the last two years playing for Hoffenheim - probably more of a central player but can definitely be a wide playmaker with 10-15 goals a season in him.

Petr Cech and Mario Götze. Wenger can play Santi as a striker after that and I'll keep quiet.

No, I'd be happy to try either one of them up front and then add Götze as another wide forward.

Götze is both a better player and a better goalscorer than Welbeck, Ramsey, Wilshere and Walcott are on the flanks, and those are our options currently. And there's still room for a lot of development in his game when it comes to scoring. Think he'd easily get 15-20 goals next season in this team, and having guys like him around would improve the likes of Özil further. The more you create and the better your combination play is the more you tend to score.

Sign him and we'd have the two most talented attacking mids in Europe in my opinion. That's how you win the league.

in: cech, ricardo rodriguez, howedes, schneiderlin, reus

i would prefer hummels instead of howedes, or laporte instead of howedes, but hummels is staying and laporte is going to cost too much. howedes is very versatile and can cover the fullback spots and also challenge for a starting CB spot.

I have to agree with Rexy, there's something missing there for me. My instincts tell me he's going to end up having a career that doesn't come close to matching the hype.
