I am gonna root for Juve to win the UCL obviously, but I must say they are pretty lucky. They haven't looked special at all yet reached the final.
That said, I will raid them for Pogba.
Is Pogba really all that? Been paying a bit more attention to him recently and I am not that impressed. A "highlight player". He is a very good player, but his overall impact on the game is too small imo to be called a world class player. He does pull of some spectacular "moves" here and there which I think inflates people's perception of him.Â
He's playing basically left midfield, so he's going to be a little less involved and a little more Hollywood. One thing I don't think gets mentioned enough about his game is his short passing; the choice, timing and, especially, his weight of pass - all top class.
Put him in the middle and I think in time he will learn to own it against everyone. Almost like Vieira and Roy Keane used to, he has that stature and aura about him. I actually reckon Arsenal would be the perfect move for him because he'd get that chance to learn and grow and then become the dominant figure. A real talisman. Which won't happen at Real Madrid (too many attacking stars) or Chelsea (where he sucks the life and personality out you in favour of being functional!).
I guess he'll go for far too much money and have his head turned, probably by Madrid, but if ever Wenger was going to spend big bucks on someone, you'd think a player like Pogba would be high on the list. He's the player Wenger dreamed of Diaby developing into.
