Isn't he a RB? That's possibly the last position we need to strengthen.
He's a bit Lahm-like in the sense that he's equally good on either flank. He's been playing on the left when I've seen him this season. He started out as a centreback so he's comfortable there too. I think he would be a really smart buy.

Now I can see why Gervinho scores in Italy.
😆 Bonucci really deserves to be benched for that defending.
😆 that defending is non existent!
That bloke who scored is the one that got mauled by Andros Townsend too 😆

Coquelin as Ball Winner in the final 3rd Kondogbia as B2B Carvalho as DM Song In the words of Gandalf - You shall not pass.

Alexis and Pedro switched flanks and me gusta!
Out: Podolski, Flamini and Welbeck or Walcott.
In: Laporte or Varane, Koke or Pogba, Bale or Reus
IN: Kondogbia, Reus/Bale, GK, Striker/Forward
OUT: Flamini, Welbeck, Diaby, Rosicky, Santi
Not exactly wish list, but this Leroy Sane at Schalke looks a very interesting young player.
Pedro is pretty shit nowdays though. Certainly not on a level we need a wide-forward to be at.
It's really time to be bold and take advantage of our depth. We should do what is expected, i.e., bring in Schniederlin to strengthen our midfield while shaking Diaby and Flamini. Then we should be adventurous - raise some money by selling Walcott and/or Welbeck and then putting in a 60m offer for Bale (and hope that Untied don't gatecrash the party with a 90m pound transfer + 300k/week salary offer. They can afford it without sales)
Greizmann.
---------Giroud------- Greizmann-Ozil-Sanchez
He's done his best work more centrally with Madrid this season playing off Mandzukic but I reckon he'd still rack up a fair few goals playing on the wing for us. Would require an absolute mega bid though.
So do it, Tambourine Man. Get rid of the chaff in the squad and bring in a Griezmann. They'll find a way to replace him
Might get your wish!

With a goal in Torino’s 2-1 derby victory over Juventus on Sunday, Matteo Darmian has now become an in-demand defender in Europe. Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reports on Tuesday that Arsenal are keen on Darmian, alongside some of the biggest clubs in Europe. The 25-year-old, with 11 caps for Italy, has emerged as a hugely talented defender at Torino in Serie A over the past three seasons. Alongside Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are now all chasing Darmian who can play as a wing-back on the left or right and in the centre of defence. Tuttosport speculate that Darmian can leave Juventus for a fee of around 15 million euros and that it would be no surprise where he to join a bigger club this summer. Arsenal have been tipped to sign defensive reinforcements this summer and Arsene Wenger may choose to bring in a more reliable option on the left of defence than either Nacho Monreal or Kieran Gibbs.

Probably completely made up, but I was extremely impressed by him in the World Cup. Would love him here as an option at fullback. Sell Kieran Gibbs to City for good money so they can have another precious homegrown and let Darmian provide competition for Monreal, as well as Bellerin and Debuchy.
I like Darmian a lot too. It's not like his emergence has been a total surprise either. He's a Milan academy product who captained their youth team and was expected to become a big defender for them, but he didn't really hit it off. Maybe he would have if the club had been more stable in recent years.

That's what I would do too. I've got nothing against Gibbs as a person but I've given up on him ever becoming the player I want him to be. And then there is all the injuries. We will make the homegrown quota without him anyway so there's no reason not to upgrade if we can get some money for him. Bellerin is everything I hoped Gibbs would be when he broke through. Comparing them is a real eye-opener.

We should also do the same for the likes of Gaya or if it somehow happens, Alaba.

I know this is a bit of a digression but I think it's important to note that there isn't any "homegrown quota" as such. There's a limit on how many total over-21 players you can have in your squad (25) and how many of those over-21 players can be non-homegrown (17) but there's no requirement to have any homegrown players in your squad at all. Chelsea, for example, have a 25 man squad consisting of 20 players, only three of who are homegrown (Terry, Cahill, Fabregas). When you consider the fact that no team that has ever existed has had a core group of more than 18 players, the amount of importance placed on homegrown status is really pretty silly.
The fact that Chelsea can count Fabregas as homegrown only shows how stupid the homegrown status is.
