Reus as a week in, week out #9 wouldn't work IMO. He could fill in now and then but over the course of the season you'd run into problems.

I think it would (blueprint would be Theo up top against Spurs), but it would require some retooling from the coaching staff. Anyways, you're right though. The way we've looked without a big target man to hold the ball up top suggests that we'd struggle in the short term. Even Sanogo helps the team push up the field.

Doubt we're getting a winger, Chamberlain and Wilshere are the future up there and we have enough in terms of numbers. We need Verm and possibly Sagna replacements too.

Well we definitely need a striker and definitely need replacements for Vermaelen and Fabianski. If Sagna leaves we'll need to replace him too. I can see Wenger throwing some real money around from now on but I'm not gonna hold my breath for him to bring in 5-6 players. I can see one of a central midfielder and a winger coming in but not both given our departures, and I think CM is a bigger need personally.

We'll bring in one, possibly two, players for the starting eleven. Maybe one or two squad players too if we're very lucky. They will be straight replacements for Fabianski and Vermaelen in that case.

I like podolski but it's clear wenger doesn't see him as an integral part of the squad. Will be sorry to see him go but it'd make sense to cash in

Yep, too much for one summer. There's the World Cup too so don't expect any signings until late august at the very earliest. Could have done with a player or two in january to make the job easier.

All of the good players will be at the world cup.

Oh, except for that Sanogo type who was actually twiddling his thumbs for two months but couldn't be signed until the last day anyway.

I think the best we can hope for is a starting striker and midfielder plus replacements for Fabianski and Vermaelen. So we have to pray to Dennis that Sagna extends his contract because if he goes too you're going to need a starting right back and another CB so you can kiss goodbye to that midfielder we need.

Currently i'm thinking if we're only getting one midfielder then it should be a CM and that Jack should look to play further up the pitch (RW i guess). I change my mind constantly on that though.

My two cents:

We aint getting a centre mid. Arteta, Flamini, Wilshere, Ramsey, Rosicky, Ox and Zelalem will all still be here next season, the first 6 are all pretty much personal favourites of Wenger and they all earn good money. Zelalem will be his pet project. I'm sure Wenger will look at that and think we are more than covered.

I think Wenger will go for one attacking player, who he'll be willing to spend a lot of money on. Could be a striker, could be another attacking midfielder. Then we'll sign a couple of defenders, at least one of whom will probably be a kid. Then a nobody keeper from somewhere and Martinez will be no 2/3.

Dont think we'll sell Podolski or Cazorla or any regular first team player. And I reckon Wenger will try very hard to persuade Vermaelen to stay one more year. Looks like Sagna is definitely off though.

Some prices will definitely be inflated, think it will affect us badly unless we sign them early.
