Last season despite a decent central defensive pairing we got hammered 6-3, 5-1, 6-0 and 3-0 against teams in the upper echelons of the league.

We conceded goals in batches.

To round out this window I want a player who will stop the rot when we fall behind against a domineering opponent.

Nigel De Jong if a top-tier DM isn't available. Than next year we can shunt off both Arteta and Flamini- Make De Jong the second choice DM to Martinez/Khedira/Bender?

I disagree. There are definitely players who contribute both in terms of quality of effort and organising the team around them.

When you concede four in twenty minutes it's a collective failure that can be prevented with proper leadership.

If you want a player who can make a genuine difference it's a striker you should wishlist, not a midfielder or a defender.

That would require us to buy atleast Reus for LW and Khedira or Carvalho for CM.

Flamini, Podolski, Arteta, Sagna and Vermaelen would be a crazy amount of experience and leadership to lose in one summer. You could even say it'd be an utterly retarded thing to do.

I woudn't mind losing anyone of the above if proper replacements are brought in. Maybe Arteta but that's it. And it would be the right thing to do.

Per, Kos, Ramsey, Theo, Jack, Rosicky have enough experience and years between them

And Ramsey and Wilshere are still pretty inexperienced.
