He maybe, but he surely dosen't look like what Wenger needed/wanted. Going into the summer our priorities were a striker and a CDM.
we needed a forward, not necessarily one with presence up front.
Wenger might change how we play.
Not sure how much he'd cost but would origi be worth getting?
Sanchez Debuchy Schneiderlin/Khedira Origi GK
Would be swell
Sanogo loan
CB needed if Verm goes.

I see Sanchez as most effective in a free role behind the striker. Charging into knockdowns and finishing or laying them off or as a wide forward finishing of through balls from Ramsey and ozil.
Roles currently played by Theo and Ozil/Ramsey
I see him as an upgrade on Theo. he can play Wengerball and keep the offense ticking, get on through balls, and also create his own chances.
In some games, he will move centrally with Theo on the right.
Schneiderlin - want this guy so bad, perfect partner for Ramsey. Has everything we need in that position
We should just wrap up Debuchy, Schneiderlin and Sanchez quickly, then focus on the backup keeper and centre forward position.

Agree.
Those would cost about £55m and £250k/week. A backup GK is likely coming for £5m or so and £50k/week. Vela/Cesc revenue is £15m and we have £200k/week off the books with BS/LF/NB/JYP gone. So we'd be looking at about a £45m net spend and £100k/week in new wages (I know club finances are more complicated - but just to give a picture).
Will Wenger go for a striker? Does he have the money to do so? We won't be good enough next season without one. I'm hoping that one of our surplus AMs (likely Podolski) will be sold to give us room for a £20m-£30m ST move, the question is who is out there. Wenger might be playing the waiting game here. I'm not convinced he's happy with Giroud - he wanted to buy Higuain and Suarez last summer for a reason.
Sanchez would indeed be an alternative to Walcott, but the most interesting front line for me would be
---------------Donkey Sanchez-----Özil-------Walcott
Walcott is a pure runner and finisher on the right, while Alexis gets the more roaming role we usually play on the left; he would both offer a treat in behind, and be able to cut inside on his stronger right foot.
Wouldn't mind seeing us sign Witsel if the price was decent. didn't know he could play the deep mid role as well as he does for belgium.
zenit paid way too much for him for us to be able to buy him off them. they have no reason to sell at a discount, their racist fans actually tolerate him because he's so good.
I strongly suspect Wenger sees Sanchez as a Giroud alternative. If Sanchez signs he will sign as the forward Wenger wanted to take the load off Giroud, not as a winger.
take the load of giroud ... alternative? you talk about him like he's squad depth.
I meant the other way round, to replace Giroud and share striking duties.

Yep I'd go with that too Rex.
id like to see us try it, but sanchez hasnt played on the left with any regularity, and when he has, he didnt look comfortable. id love to see him thrive as a inverted wide playmaker/scorer.

he can play Wengerball
what does that even mean? other teams, many of whose budgets are dwarfed by ours, play more attractive, attacking football than we do. we've been played off our own park by teams like swansea.
as far as i'm concerned, "wengerball" means limp dick soccer using shit forwards and no movement off the ball.
So latest rumours seem to suggest
----------Giroud Cazorla-Ozil-Sanchez ----Khedira-Ramsey Gibbs-Kos-Merte-Debuchy ---------Szczesny
Theo, Wilshere, chambo, podolski, verm, arteta in reserve.
I can handle that
We desperately need to sign a striker.

Title winning team.
Solid team, but we really should try to replace Giroud and Mertesacker. Obvious weak links in that side.
