If I had my way...
... I would change the frontline over the next 2 summers. Only player who would remain a starter would be Ozil. We would end up with something like

----------- Benzema -------------
Reus -------- Ozil ------- Sanchez

It seems a bit rich, but this is the level of quality that City, PSG, Barca and Real have. If we are going to compete with those teams, we need to sort our frontline out over the next 14 months

Yep, agree. We need somebody and Wenger is waiting to see what falls out. Not sure how much that will do for us though especially since Benzema seems on the verge of re-signing.

Interested by the links of Sanchez or wide attacking players but I'm not too bothered about that position. The trust should be in Chamberlain to become a top player in one of the wide roles. For the other position, Cazorla, Podolski, Wilshere, Gnabry, Campbell and Walcott are not world class but a couple out of them having good seasons will be ok. I'm just looking for a brilliant striker, a top defensive mid and solid right back. But agree that Wenger will wait to see which strikers are available late on in the window. Expect Joel Campbell to be talked up by Arsenal.com in a few weeks.

ox, jack, theo seem like perma-crocks, and its too early to count on gnabry or campbell. our established wide options are fairly mediocre, so i can somewhat understand the winger links

nah. we need a whole frontline overhaul. we need to stop depending on the players we have. to a man, every single one of our players in the front 4 not named Ozil is not super quality. it pains me to watch these guys.

What has Chamberlain done? Please refer to me to 3 consecutive games where he did a job. 10 games where he was outstanding. We cannot afford to keep developing and propping up several players at a time in our starting line-up.

You are very much a right now kind of guy, Claudius. That's a strength sometimes, but it also means you often don't see what might be just round the corner. This time last summer you were saying that Ramsey wasn't good enough - what had he done for us? Where were his run of outstanding games? Chamberlain just needs to stay fit and he'll become massively productive for us. A real weapon.

And to be fair, Chamberlain did have a run during a difficult spell for us last season where he either scored or created about 6 or 7 of our goals in a row, across a number of games. And that wasnt long after returning from injury when we really needed someone to step up because we were struggling.

Chamberlain was our outstanding player for two months or so when he made his return. Plenty of games to pick and choose from where he was man of the match. Would start him over Cazorla in a heartbeat next season (and I like Santi).

Ramsey's turnaround even considering his improvement at the end of season before last, is really lost on people. Chamberlain can explode any time if he can keep fit.

Wilshere too. There is more potential in those two than in any two players we could bring in who aren't the finished product.

It's pretty obvious what we need at the moment. We need a striker, a rightback and a central midfielder, and we need them in that order. It would be great if we could sign a winger too but that falls under maintenance work for now, just like a new leftback. There's little point in changing the waterpipes in the basement while the roof is leaking.

Chamberlain had some brilliant matches and some awful matches when he came back.

I think Chamberlain is a season or two off being a guaranteed first choice.

I wanted Suarez intensely but I really don't want that drama at the club. There must be other players out there who've seen their stock go down but are still great. Agüero with his injury issues. Cavani with his prolific but overlooked year in PSG after being shunted to the wing. An older overpaid Rooney after a disappointing World Cup...
