I can't shake the feeling that Arsene might be considering Theo for a permanent center forward position next season. We might just buy a top quality wide forward like Alexis/ Reus.

If we are not interested in Balotelli then it only leaves Cavani and Benzema as top quality options and I don't think we will be able to bring through either of them. There really aren't too many top quality center forwards.

Giroud shouldn't be first choice next season.

Morata might be a great buy and we should just pay Real what they want for him. It's a chance on a young talent but one that we might need to take.

I'd like Sanchez to be our marquee then I'd be happy enough whichever direction wengs wants to go - power with Aurier Cuadrado or technical Juanfran Turan etc

Sanchez will be a top signing but he isn't a center forward in my opinion. He can play behind the striker or wide but as a lone man up front? I don't think so.

We're not signing 2 wide players, let's be real here. I'd happily settle for Mandzukic Sanchez Aurier and then a competent keeper.

Not sold on Cuadrado and Giroud should be the first player replaced this summer. I'll cry if he's our first choice up front next year.

Happy to see Giroud as our first player if we have real AMs like Sanchez and Reus alongside him. Ozil would e very happy.

We'll never win a PL title with Giroud starting up front. Alexis would be a huge boost strikers drag you through shit games and win you league titles. It's all for nought if we don't sign a striker.

We need a striker purely based on numbers - Giroud and Sanogo is not enough so we'll sign somebody. He just might not be very good.

Our biggest problem is the guys around Giroud do not score. Our chance to upgrade on Giroud was last year when we failed in our attempt to secure Suarez. The guys we are talking about right now are not necessarily an upgrade on Giroud but an upgrade on Sanogo., e.g., Balotelli and Mandzukic. Both of those guy could keep Giroud out of the starting line-up, but neither will dominate a game on his own the way Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, RVP can

Theo does. So does Poldi. Ox will. Add Sanchez or Cuadrado and they will too.

Our biggest problem is not having an individual game changer in the front three. We rely a lot on team play and it's difficult against top teams. Walcott doesn't have the skill and ball control, neither do Podolski and Giroud. Chambo was injured for most of the season and Cazorla is a midfielder really. He doesn't play like a forward.

Theo scored 21 the season before and was injured most of last season

Podolski had an excellent goal-scoring record on the basis of appearances
Ramsey had an outstanding goal-scoring record on the basis of appearances
Cazorla nearly has a 1 in 4 record in the league in his 2 years here. His goal-scoring stats are the best here than in any prior club.
Walcott scored 21 prior to last season and missed most of last season
Ozil was not brought in to score. His goal haul is similar to what he had at Madrid and he got into double figures in assists which should have been at least a few more had Giroud actually finished those chances.

The only person who is guilty of scoring less goals than he should is Giroud. The league leading striker had 30. Our striker Giroud had one more than half that tally. That's it.

In short you're talking nonsense but it's not the first time.

Exactly, Rohit. This is why disagree with your suggestion in the Sanchez thread that Theo could play upfront. It's either you have a striker with good hold up play that can link up with the rest of the team or you have someone with great skill and ball control. Dont think either set of qualities are Theo's strong points. IF we sign Sanchez, we should still sign a striker.

Fair enough. I recognize Theo's limitations and why it may not work. I am only not averse to it if we have a player of Sanchez's quality and attributes supporting him, especially with Ozil behind. I did stress that we will lose some control on possession. Right now we just have no one in the front line who excels in more than one attribute - pace, power, ball control, skill - it's just either or.
