Football is football, no matter where it is played. In the end, regardless of formation, it is all about how you execute it. I see no reason why it couldn't work well, but then again it isn't like whatever we think has any impact.
I don't think we should have one set formation anyway. Playing a narrow formation where you defend with 7 players close to your box, one midfielder slightly ahead, and two strikers is a good set up in big games where you look to hit the opponent on the counter. Against 'lesser' teams you may want to play our 'usual' formation, or use the same formation as above but with fullbacks higher up the pitch.
