Why the hell would you have Chez as your keeper in that line up?

Gotta have some homegrown players for the quotas, hence Shaw and Chez even though there are better alternatives.

In all fairness, we nearly have an excellent spine. I genuinely wouldn't change Kos, Ramsey, or Ozil for anyone. Add in a top striker and we're golden 😃

Bit of a pointless comparison in my view. It's all about the squad and City's is far stronger than ours. Its not like City's spine is the standard bearer at the moment anyway - Hart and Kompany have had poor seasons individually, for example. For me it's what happens when you go chunks of time without that strong spine in place that matters.

One of the things that is so exciting about Benzema is his touch and his ability to control any kind of ball that comes into him and either pass or create space for himself against defenders. He is incredible at doing that, and he would really help us out of those Mertesacker-Sagna-Arteta passing bottlenecks that hamstring our game, and against the heavy central midfield pressing that killed us at Anfield and Stamford Bridge.

Really hoping Real get smacked in the final and Perez just loses it. I doubt we can get better than Benzema and with one year left on his contract he would come relatively cheap.

If you take away strikers does City have a better squad than we do? Not really tbh (so Wilshere's point stands), although Sagna switching hands would change that.

Aguero scored one goal more than Giroud. City scored 30 goals more than us. Its not as easy as you think.

Yes it is. Giroud's played way more than Aguero, and City have better backup strikes we have. By upgrading on Giroud, we also upgrade on Sanogo/Bendtner, as Giroud becomes our backup. I'm not saying we sign a striker and we score 30 more goals. I'm saying that a striker is what we lack in our spine. City have an excellent spine, so they can focus on adding to that. We have to complete our spine before we do that but that's just my opinion.

I think the main difference and reason why Liverpool and City are top whilst we are fourth is City's top 3 league scorers (Toure-20, Dzeko-16, Aguero-17) and Liverpool's top 3 (Gerrard-13, Sturridge-20, Suarez-31) whilst our top three are (Ramsey-9, Giroud-16, Podolski-8. If we keep Ramsey fit and add another striker with Giroud, someone who can score 20+ league goals then attacking wise we should be top 2 next season.

If theo can return to the player he was last season after the injury then sure keep him in over Giroud.

What are the chances of Theo giving us a full season next year? He was already injury prone and now he's suffered a massive cruciate injury. When he's available he's great but we can't rely on him any more, he should only be seen as a bonus.

John Cross suggesting that Sagna's decision on his contract situation will be resolved after the World Cup.

Sagna to City might be complicated by FFP sanctions? I don't know. Would feel like a new signing though. 😆
