Tierney and a CB (whilst managing to move Mustfai) and this would end up being a 9/10 window. Would have been 10/10 if Cebellos was permanent.

Bit concerned that we have not heard much about CB links though. With Tierney I am not worried and am pretty sure the club will get in across the line.

the CB seems up in the air, and depends on exits. if we don't shift the right players, we'll settle for a cheap loan deal for a rugani or someone of that level

You must be very happy with the Ceballos signing? Exactly what you were calling for in a centre midfielder.

You must be very happy with the Ceballos signing? Exactly what you were calling for in a centre midfielder.

Ceballos is (in theory) a brilliant signing. Exactly what we need imo. Someone who can play out of pressure, either by making a clever turn or quick pass. I also think Pepe has terrific potential here, and Tierney would solve a lot of problems. I just hope we can get someone in at CB who can do a decent job. Doesn't have to be a world class or even near world class. Just solid and calm under pressure.

Should be good enough for top three imo and close the gap somewhat between us and Liverpool/City. Furthermore, we'd really start to rebuild this team. A few good signings next summer as well, and this team could challenge for both cl and pl again.

Was reading that going by the actual up front fees we are still operating within the alleged 40m budget thus far, and any further action is likely to be fuelled by player trading.

Do not want.
If we can't make a deal for a signing on fee then he can either buy out his contract himself or spend the rest of the season on the bench for the Reserves - and I don't give a rats arse which one he chooses.

TBH I don't want Xhaka as part of our midfield because he has the same impact on our transition as we saw from Fabregas = he is very measured with his passing and does not take many risks. As a consequence we are rather slowed and deliberate which then compromises the pace we have available in attack. We need to get the ball to the forwards much like MC = asap and then let the support join the attack.

And I don’t at all recall it being the case that Fabregas didn’t take risks and slowed us down.

Of course, but let's be realistic. Xhaka will be here for at least one more year.
