Totally agree Kamikaze, that appears to be a massive stumbling block for the club. Given his status, previous achievements and longevity there seems to be nobody at the club who gas any real authority or credibility to challenge his decision or at the very least present an alternative option. This means there is no real external pressure on him and I don't believe he has an internal equivalent of that pressure, at least not anymore. That kind of pressure whether self generated or imposed is crucial in generating a real competitive edge, it makes you ruthless, provides a drive to strive for better and would never tolerate the kinds of setbacks we have as par for the course.
Its not that there is no way we couldn't try and be a successful club again with Wenger, its more that it requires quite a big change in philosophy and Wenger to relinquish some of his authority, but I can't see him doing it. I don't believe he has the ability to make the changes required himself so it leaves few other options.
