Which fans? Never heard about that, Ferguson had won the league title as recently as a two years previously whereas Wenger hasn't won it for a decade so theres no comparison really.....

Facts have little to do with fan reaction. At that time there were certainly a quite large proportion of the Man U fan base which wanted to get rid of Fungus. Too bad they didn't.

He was getting tons of abuse, they especially couldn't get their head around the 4-3-3 and were demanding a return to 4-4-2.

Also, they won a single league title in five years, not what they're used to.

Since the inception of the PL in 92 in the 13 seasons until 05 they Failed to win it 5 times. 🙁

It's going to be good seeing him lift a trophy in May.* even if it's not the league. I can't work out whether the 1000 games have flown by or felt like 10000 games.
