Spot on there Jazz , one would think Chelsea have come out better with the Mata/Salah swap. First off they have gotten a ridiculous amount of money ( £37m) for player who is merely a backup given the manager's tactics. They have then basically replaced a backup with someone very good but with different attributes for £11m . Basically a swap or 'reserve' players for a cool £26m profit in one go , with the added bonus of giving United a chance to take points off title rivals. Mata is also cup-tied in the UCL .
Do you follow the Swiss the league? I have only seen Salah in the Europa league, so can't say how good he is, but from I have heard from people who do watch him often he's a very inconsistent player.
£37m is a ridiculous amount for Mata? To all those who agree with this, what do you think is Mata's current market value? Mind you Chelsea bought him for around £24m 2 years ago and has been Chelsea's best player in those 2 years. A cowardly manager comes in and refuses to play him because he hasn't got the balls to play attacking players who don't run up and down for him like maniacs. He got 20 goals and 35 assists (yes, 35 direct assists) for them last year, and was generally considered one of the top players in the league. At a time when the likes of Lamela, Soldado, Willian etc are all going for £30m, and we are even rumoured to be paying £38 for Draxler (an unproven kid, albeit a very talented one), is £37m really ridiculous for Mata?
I have do doubt Liverpool for example would be willing to pay that when they sell Suarez for £60-70m in the summer.
