He doesn't seem to rate Ba either, but did stop him from joining us. He's underestimating United. Very stupid IMO.

Mourinho thinks fairly short term anyway, he's looking at this season and United are not a threat.
He can out buy United next summer if he needs to.

Chelsea now linked with Griezmann as well.

As long as Chelsea are not linked with top class strikers, I don't really care. It isn't like any wing forward they bring in is going to be a big upgrade on what they already have. In fact, I HOPE they buy Greizmann or someone of that ilk for most of the Mata money; what Capi is saying regarding the money they get for Mata is what worries me.

From the left, but that Hazard bloke isn't doing too shabby for Chelsea at the moment.

Looked very average in the last few games. Can't see Chelsea signing a better player than Mata in this window - good for us! It's just that United part that I'm pissed off about.

We never tried to buy Ba.

We weren't going to pay £37m for Ba.

Just read the following on twitter:

PSG are ready to offer €70m for Pogba, according to tomorrow's edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

Wow!

i think you'll find that we never attempted the purchase of the one called demba ba.

Griezmann scores goals

So does Mata

Anyway, Mata isn't as good out wide as he is in the no.10, plus he won't look as class in a United side that isn"t very good at retaining the ball, he will end up doing a lot more defending than he is accustomed to

Y va: Do you think that's why they are selling to Man U, because of the money? Personally I can't see this deal going through without Rooney going the other the way, but perhaps not until the summer. Interested in what other people think though. Was it just because of the amount of money offered, or do people think there's something more to it?

Come on, they were willing to send him on loan till Mourinho blocked the deal at the death. He clearly saw the danger of strengthening a rival, even if it's a player he doesn't seem to rate.

If you can't see the difference between £0.00 and £37'000'000.00 then I can't help ya.

No one else would pay close to 30m for Ba, I can see a few more sides paying that for Mata, even in the PL.

If you can't see that they could easily get something very close that from other PL sides for Mata then I can't help ya.

We offered no incentive for Chelsea to give us Ba. Nuffin, quite literally.

I'm pretty sure Mourinho doesn't think Mata is a mug, but it's clear he's not viewed as anything too special. And if that's how you feel, £37m is a shitload to turn down. And for all your words, Mata has been available for a while, and nobody except Utd seems that bothered.

Mourinho doesn't want Mata and Chelsea are fine with letting him go to United because United are willing to pay £37m, which is more than anyone else would pay for him.

I'm not saying they need the money obviously, but even in mad spending Abramovich land the offer of huge money for a squaddie would be hard to turn down.

High loan fees? If I remember correctly they were asking a ludicrous high fees for him, we negotiated with them and were willing to pay a figure they were happy to let him go for. Mourinho pulled the plug on the deal at the last minute.

Anyway, let's agree to agree. Some of you are willing to strengthen a rival if it means you make a little more profit than you are likely to make elsewhere, I'm of the opinion that you should under no circumstances strengthen a rival. We'll never agree, so let's leave it there.
