Everybody panic!!!!
Meh, good player but not that good. Will give Man Utd a better chance of finishing 4th and I guess the move makes sense for both parties.

I can't believe Chelsea are selling to United.
Mata was Chelsea's best player for two years. He has very good assist and goals stats.
Why aren't other people more worried about this?
On top of that, creative midfield has been manu's weakest point recently with Rooney having to play there to get anything going.
Don't worry about Mata going to United, worry about where the close to £60m that Chelsea just raised is going.

My mind is drawing a blank, where did the other 20m come from? 20m just went out for Matic too.
I forgot about Matic, but De Bruyne went for 17m.
Ahh right. Mata money will definitely be going towards a striker, along with one or two of their current strikers going off the books. Chelsea can clear quite a bit in wages.
Bet they go for Diego Costa. He's a Jorge Mendes client and just signed for Adidas too.

This is exactly how I feel too. £37m is a gross overpayment by Man U but it does give Chelsea a lot of wiggle room that they didn't previously have in the search for a striker. If Man U finish in the top 4 then you could argue that that would go some way to paying back the fee but on the face of things right now, this is an awful deal for Man U and a miraculous deal for Chelsea.
If Man Utd get 4th, that'll be the top four sorted for a good few years I think; Chelsea and City will obviously be there while us and Utd will be swimming in our sponsorship money.
It's now or never for Liverpool and Tottenham.

After spuds, cheski and manu are the two teams i particularly dislike.
I'm most worried about the boost that this will give United.
Their squad and top players like RvP will perk up and might actually start trying to play for Moyes.
RvP, Rooney and Mata is significantly better than any attacking trio we have.
Özil is still trying to get used to the league, and we lack any other truely world class in our attack.
You worry too much Nela
They are ManU, it's not like they were going to sit there and sink into oblivion without a fight.
Yeah, I'd except them to strengthen in the summer, and not be given players by Chelsea, City or Arsenal. Not to mention it might convince top players to join them now, regardless of an unknown like moyes.
Think you're overrating Mata's stock
united were always going to make some moves, so i'm not too concerned with this. let's just enjoy their mediocrity while it lasts
Their share price has dropped $500mill since Moyes took over so no doubt they weren't gonna sit around and not throw some money about.
He'll improve them out wide because their wingers have been terrible this season apart from Januzaj.

Even with Mata they may not scrape fourth if Rooney and Van Persie don't get fit soon.
Every loss is going to kick at their already shaky confidence and they don't have Fergie to fire them up and out of the funk that they're in.
Far more concerned about what Chelsea will do with Mata money this window.

They've been making moves since last summer without much success. And it will be even more difficult for them to attract top players if they don't make top 4. Another bad summer is all what it could take to see them go into mediocrity for the next 3-4 years.
Chelsea are out of their minds.
what mata money? since when do Chelsea care about money. Is this because of the FFp? been hearing about it for last dunno how many years.
