france would still be without world cup success if Ronaldo hadn't been post ictal for the final-zidane or no zidane. Sorry, off topic but couldn't resist

Nobody is convincing anybody else.
Just post what you like and enjoy!

You can take your Zidane's and shove them, I'll be having this bloke:

Keep your cheap perma tanned imitation, I'll have the real deal.

CR is better than the tranny shagger.

Ronaldo was so exciting to watch. Also better than CR

Yep.

Ronaldo (the real one) at his best was better at everything (dribbling, passing, vision, finishing) apart from heading

Also much more exciting to watch. Cristiano Ronaldo has morphed into a forward version of Lampard - all about being effective. I prefer the 2006/2007 version of CR.

I prefer the one that averages 50 goals a season 😆

Ronaldo at his best would easily hit 50 a season in Spain (for the past 5 seasons).

And he'd make his team play better too.

No doubt C.Ronaldo is a phenomenal player and one of the best ever but I don't get anywhere near the same enjoyment watching him as I do a lot of other players and certainly not Ronaldo. There was a period where he and the name itself just epitomised football.

CR isn't even exciting to watch anymore, at Man U exchanging with Rooney and Tevez he was good player but his one man team show at Madrid is embarrassing for the club. Plus he has underperformed in many of the big games.

Fat Ronaldo at Madrid or Barcelona today would knock C.Ronaldo off his perch.

Think Ronaldo is the fastest dribbler of the ball that has ever played the game. Total control at his maximum speed; it's amazing.

He scored in 8 straight Clasicos, 6 in a row at Camp Nou, Semi Finals of the CL, etc, etc, etc.

Scoring goals alone doesn't make him the best player in the game though.

Seemed to speed up when he was on the ball. Must have been a nightmare to defend against.

I didn't say he was the best player in any of the games, but Ronaldo generally performs on the biggest of stages.

I watched Barca games just to see Romario and then Ronaldo.
Despite both being incredible, Shortarse and Tangoman, are a borefest to me.

Like the polar opposite of Joe Cole. Every touch, feint, step-over means something and has a purpose. Not just faffing about ten yards from the closest defender.

Messi is anything but boring. Incredible player, never seen a dribbler like him.

Incredible, yes. Impossible to defend against, yes. But for some reason i am left cold

It's because Messi has no charisma. Not just off the pitch, he has a robotic style about him. Nowhere near the swagger of other greats of the game.

So true. He is amazing though, and well on his way of being the greatest ever to play the game. Can't believe anyone would rate C.Ronaldo over the real deal; that is just mental. Have to keep reminding myself that Volly wasn't actually around to see him play.

Messi's lack of charm has a bit to do with Barcelona's lack of charm. After all, they're fairly robotic winners, which makes his achievements seem more so.

He'd be a more enjoyable player in a more swashbuckling setup - except it's long been rumoured he can't tolerate other egos up front.

Watch him play for Argentina. Fucking immense.

Argentina need to give Messi a solid defensive platform to work from. They do that, I think they have a great chance of winning the whole thing.

Their midfield diamond or 442 rhombus or whatever you want to call it works so well. Higuain plays on the last shoulder, Aguero can go up to partner or drop deep or go wide, Messi gets more space than he does when playing for Barca. Di Maria plays both CM and LW at the same time. They've also played 442 with Messi off of a #9.

Not sure if they have enough talent at the back but if Messi, Aguero, and Di Maria are in good physical condition I can see them making the Semi Finals at least.

Del Piero once said he cried watching two players play, Baggio and Giggs. I've never cried watching a player, but if I did it would probably be this guy. Simply cannot understand how someone can control the football at such pace.

For different reasons, one would suspect.

I have never cried watching a player either. My eyes little bit water watching Giroud though.

I cried during a football game once...oh wait, no i didn't, i'm not a girl.

I cried a number of times when watching Almunia and Gervinho.

The Real Ronaldo is just immense. Best step overs ever

Zidane or Ronaldinho?

Ronaldinho's peak was miles better than anything Zizou did. I'd take Zidane though.

Not sure I agree with the '....Ever' part, but I do really enjoy this compilation. Wanted to post it as a few poster's were mentioning that Ronaldo has lost some of his allure as he's become more clinical. I definitely agree with that, but its still there.
