The story seems a bit far fetched but remember reading up about him in the summer when we were linked. Basically this purely based on some clips & what some French football fans think, remember them saying he is a very good passer from deep and efficient at winning the ball back. Those are the qualities we need for our eventual Arteta/Flamini replacement but if Napoli had a £14mill bid rejected we ain't gonna go in much higher especially when we have those two and probably a striker to buy.
He's no good. If Wenger wanted him he'd have signed him instead of Flamini.
That position we weren't in any desperate need this summer to replace Arteta so Flamini made sense as good alternative/backup, we tried for Bender which I assume was for that position but his clause wasn't active yet. I'm guessing his new contract has another clause so if Wenger still wants him he'll go back in the summer.
