Right, so Cerci's not going to elevate us then.
Hard to figure what we're going to do in January.
I would think that we'd be desperate to sign a striker - if the rumours that Giroud's on scaled down training in order to keep him some way fresh are to be believed.
Wenger's odd about winter transfers though, just hope he really sees and believes that we're in touching distance of a title if he goes big in January.

I'm not really keen on Dzeko especially after getting so fed up with Giroud. We should go for a far more dynamic striker IMO.

Negredo isn't a world beater, but City look far better with him leading the lines than they do when Dzeko starts in his place. Just look at how fluid our attack looked last season with Gervinho as the central striker. Shame the Ivorian lacked composure and was a bit brainless because that sort of striker is the best for our game IMO.

I hear ya on a dynamic forward. Trouble is there ain't many about.

Benzema fits that category but I'm not sold on his attitude

Dzeko is significantly better than Giroud. All three of City's strikers are to be honest.

Remy is on a season long loan from QPR though, highly doubt it can be cancelled and Newcastle wouldn't agree if it could be.

Tactics

Get Rossi - can play on the wings, in the hole, and upfront on his own.

You sure? Seen a bit of them this season and he's always on the right side. He's great to watch alright but he seems like the type of guy who's suited to being a big player at a small team rather than fighting for a place at a top club.

I think Rossi would be quite perfect for us in January, but doubt Fiorentina would want to cash in and he would want to leave given what they been through together. Not everyone is Judas.

I really want someone that is far more mobile and can provoke defences. Ideally not someone similar to Giroud, so not Dzeko or Llorente even though they are both upgrades.

I'd take a gamble on Pato if it's true we can get him for 10 million. He has the raw characteristics we need from a new striker and there's no question about his potential. Like Ramsey and Wilshere he's suffered from some horrible injuries at a young age and if anyone can reinvigorate his career it's Wenger. I've no doubt that Wenger likes him and I remember we were also quite heavily linked with him before he moved to Milan so the transfer seems feasible.

Dzeko on the other hand I don't want really want. He'd just be more of the same for me. Remy would be a decent signing but he's locked at Newcastle until the Summer and would he really represent the top class striker we need up front? I don't think so although he's been a one man army for the toons this season.

Don't want Benzema either. Just not good enough. Especially not at that price.

Suarez would be the perfect signing and we should go all in for him but I'm unsure whether that would be enough.

I'd quite like Pato, definitely a gamble due to fitness, but I wouldn't say no at that price.

Would prefer Suarez though.

he's like a combination of Bendnter and Diaby. Why would anyone want Pato?

Because his injury problems are over and he is about a million times better than Bendtner.

And he's cheap and available as soon as the january window opens.

Pato has been struggling in Brazil for a few months now. Very sceptical.

I'd gamble on Pato too as a last option. He needs someone to reignite his career. Maybe Wenger could do that. He's the kind of striker we could do with in a squad. Walcott-like speed but with an added technical dimension that actually makes him suited to playing on the shoulder of the last defender.

Worth the risk if £10mill pricetag is true. Realistically we won't find much better in the January window.

Yeah i would definately gamble on Pato since we're unlikely to get anything else with such high potential in the winter.

Pato was electric a few years back. Would combine so well with our playmakers
