He's fast, has skills, and is reasonably two footed, but I have reservations about him playing #9 without another striker alongside him.

Benched, because no Allegri team can have more than one technical player at any time. Dont think he's worried about it though. Allegri will be gone before Christmas.

I'm a fan but I don't think we need El Shaarawy at the moment. We could probably get him if we put in a big bid in january though.

I didn't say suppressing all emotional attachment. I said people get carried away by players and then all this vitriol comes out when they leave.

Some people haven't moved on clearly. To be fair it took me months and every goal he scored was met by complete despair from me. By the end of the season though I got over it.

RVP didn't just tag along for 7 years. He played as hard as anyone did when he could. He was a professional football player, not Arshavin. Ok fine he got injured loads.

And he knew we weren't going to win anything so he went somewhere where he knew he could. It hurts that he went to United and as I said it took ages for me to get over it. But if it wasn't for him we probably wouldn't have reached the CL places in the 2011/12 season so it works both ways.

The snake had three good seasons out of seven and then forced a move to Man United when he finally got injury free. Don't try to fight his corner; he's one of the biggest wankers to play for us in years and that's saying something.

We're not stupid Tony we know all about it, players retire or move on but theres nothing wrong with having favourite ones, football is a game of emotions thats what supporting a club is all about.
If winning or losing or people slagging off your favourite player or team doesn't affect you well then you're a plastic.

I have favourite players too. It's the getting carried away as if they're semi-gods that I don't get. And it's partly the reason people can't really take it when they eventually leave for bigger things.

It does affect me when others slag off our team. It was me who mentioned how it got to me when the Chelsea fans were taunting us with what little we'd won. All I got was Captain dismissing it by saying who cares what they sing. I love going to the games for the fan culture. And i'm fully aware the fans hurl abuse at RVP.

We only stuck by his corner through injury because of his talent. We knew he could produce a lot for us.

When Eduardo was injured and came back we sold him off but I don't see anyone complaining or whining about that.

He didn't produce a lot for us though, he only had one season where he wasn't injured and played more than 30 PL games in a season, and only one season where he scored over 20 PL goals and then he went. That's nowhere near enough to justify a rape case and 7 seasons of big injuries (mostly playing for his country) or being unavailable.

Wenger knew he had potential to produce when injury free and he did. When he wasn't injured he scored a lot of goals. You are having a go at him for being injured. Fine.

And for the last time, you are innocent until proven guilty.

I'm not having a go at him for being injured, but the club accommodated him for seven or so seasons, that requires loyalty back, when he finally does become injury free. No point acting like he is like a normal footballer wanting a transfer to win trophies because his injury record wasn't normal.

No it doesn't require loyalty back. It's every man and every club to himself and itself respectively. We appreciate and expect loyalty back but everyone knows how this game works. That's why we didn't require loyalty from Eduardo because he wasn't that good after his injury. RVP was after his injuries.

Anyway he scored when he was playing. And we accommodated Rosicky for ages whose injury record is even worse.

Stuck by him because we were too poor to sign someone proper and mostly because Wenger is a nice guy. Would be back in holland scratching around for a game right now if he was at any other 'top' team during those years.

That is the debt of gratitude that he owes to the boss; it's a small man who throws that back in Arsene's face.
