What?! that's ridiculous.

I would have done the same. Without thinking twice about it.

He's a kid, not the best player in the country (let alone the Bayern team), and doesn't have the same standing as his teammates.

Can't believe Gotze is the highest paid player in Germany, surprised Lahm, Schweinsteiger, and Ribery haven't kicked up a fuss.

He's possibly the biggest football talent Germany has ever unearthed. You don't just pay for his current level. You invest in his potential. It's the correct strategy. I would do the same to land someone like Wilshere in Premier League.

Very high praise Klaus. Not sure i see him as having the level of talent you do.

Ozil is quite a bit better in my opinion

Also I like Kroos a lot. May not be as aesthetically pleasing but he seems just as effective

Big lad too.

After some searching, it seems Gotze makes less than Ribery. Most sources have it that Gotze got a 7m euro annual salary, and Ribery 10m euro annual salary (both after tax).

That's from just one source; an early report from Bild, which they adjusted later.

Quite sure we're not going for another midfielder now. Can only see us bringing in a striker IF someone good is available (which i doubt).

I think we do need another midfield, a long term replacement for the Arteta/Flamini position. The Daily Star on a Sunday isn't exactly the most reliable of sources though....

We should buy a midfielder when we need one, no need to preempt anything. And Zalalem is a bit of a long term project.

Think we're set in midfield for this season, and possibly next season. Reckon we'll have a prospect (maybe Zelalem) getting a few games as 5th choice in 2014/2015.

Prioritise any decent striker in Jan. Heck I'd give Carlton Cole a 3 month deal till Jan.

Is he a free agent? I always kind of liked him.

In the past part of our problem is leaving things like this too late, need to be a bit more proactive and solve issues before they flare up rather than leave it too late.

I don't think we should buy any midfielder in January baring an injury crisis, only a striker and maybe another defender. A midfielder would be for next summer, definitely not January.

I don't think that's been a particular problem in the past. Reckon Arteta and Flamini will be good for this season and next, then we should go after a top replacement.

Find that hard to believe. That would put £30 mil on their annual base wage bill just for those two players, and they are running a bill around united atm.

Lars Bender and Luis Suarez should be our aims now.

Get those guys in and we are getting serious.

Need a defender a lot more than another midfielder.
