Absurd how there has been a world record transfer, yet most of the talk this window has been about Özil rather than Bale.

Because Ozil is a bigger player than Bale on the international stage and it is out of place for Arsenal so its novel to talk about the situation where a club famed for its scrimp is in possession of the 2nd most expensive transfer in British history.

Basically for Real a record transfer isn't a big deal, £42 mil at arsenal is.

it's a little like when Tevez and Macherano went to West Ham, it was completely out of the blue. But I dont think we should do ourselves a disservice, we are the Arsenal, our brand of football is recognised around the world, Wenger is highly regarded despite not winning anything in yonks, and we are always qualifying for the CL.

Yeah, but the fact that he'll be able to drop a shoulder to evade some midfield carthorse will make a difference. I always felt that Fabregas' weakness as a number 10 was that he couldn't just glide past the attentions of those who were marking him.
