I'm sure we've known his contractual situation inside out ever since he stopped being a regular at Chelsea. So this would not surprise me at all—it'd be similar to the last minute deals of 2011. We are making signing supplicants a specialty.

It would be underwhelming to bring a player back to England who has first been put on the fringe at a rival PL club, and then put out to pasture in Ligue 1. He would score a couple.

I actually think Kalou is a good player. Nothing special mind and certainly not enough considering Wenger's complete piss taking in the transfer window this far. Had we signed at least a couple of top players already, I'd welcome this. But because we signed Flamini I get the feeling adding Kalou would kill any chance of Wenger signing a top player.
