Exactly it doesn't matter what a player costs or what his wages are, thats the boards concern, it shouldn't be Wengers and it certainly isn't ours.
Wengers concern and ours is how much that player is worth on the pitch.
People talk a lot of bollocks about how we should "spend spend spend" and buy two "20M players" and a "30M player" as if you pick them out of a showroom, and Wenger is right to mock such simplifications.
How does any one of us know if a player who costs 20-30M will fit in and perform better than a player who was free?
That has to be determined on the pitch, and if they prove failures and we don't win a trophy for- lets say 8 years- well then it's Wengers head that should fall.
