I'm going to the Real Sociedad vs Barcelona match on Saturday 🙂 My brother is a Sociedad supporter, my other brother and step father are Barcelona supporters, should be interesting!

Vela has turned into quite the player! Looks like Aguero-lite. He moves really well, and his tekkers is top class. 10 goals and 8 assists in 22 starts is more than decent too.

I like Greizmann a lot, but playing him like an out and out striker like Sociedad are doing here doesn't get the best out of him IMO.

How many teams play Barcelona with two strikers not really defending and still look defensively solid?
These two goalies have to be in the top 5 in the world with the ball at their feet. Like having another real football player on the pitch.

Vela has been absolutely fantastic.

Sociedad have a few players who I wouldn't mind at Arsenal - Griezmann, Zaldua, Martinez. Tempted to say Vela too, but he has his baggage here. He really DOES look like Aguero!
Zaldua is 21 and looks a top prospect RB, Martinez is a CB who seems to be off to a top club in the summer.

Do we still have any links to Vela? Selling for £2.5m was about £10m too cheap.

i've never rated vela for arsenal, but even i thought we should've gotten about that much for him. did we get a big % sell-on clause?

We can buy him back at any time for a fixed sum apparently. Not sure why we negotiated such a clause though. He doesn't want to join us and Wenger obviously doesn't like him.

I've always wanted vela to get a chance, Wenger didn't like him for some reason, maybe because he wasn't good enough on the wings and wasn't tall enough for wenger as a target man centre forward, which is wengers ideal striker now. So I don't think we will be going for a benzema type striker, Diego costa is probably the most realistic, but wenger only spends big on attacking midfielders.

well if a big club goes in for vela, we exercise the clause and buy him, and then immediately sell to that big club. profit. this is assuming there's some sort of notice provision like there would be in a right of first refusal.

Surely Vela can reject a move? There's no reason why he'd do that to Sociedad.

Think Vela just had a rotten attitude. Or maybe he didnt adapt to England, fuck knows. Don't think the reason we got rid was technical though.
