Cabaye is a good player and under the circumstances I´m not against signing him, but it´s a classic panic buy from a club that clearly has no real vision or drive for challenging at the very top. It´s not like we´re trying for Vidal here, we could have very easily signed Cabaye with minimal fuss back in June for a sum of money close enough to what we´ve just bid.
Yohan Cabaye is in fact exactly the profile of player that Wenger would say would ´kill his players´, as he doesn´t really offer much more than what we already have in the likes of Arteta or Ramsey. Begs the question, why the hell didn´t we just snap up Luiz Gustavo who was ready, willing, expperienced AND had the skillset we needed?
