Arsène Wenger said: “Theo will be out for a few weeks. He has developed some damage to his posterior abdominal wall. It's not a hernia, but it's a little structural problem in his abdomen.

"He will have the procedure in Germany on Wednesday and, because it’s so minor, we can begin his rehab immediately. We are pleased it’s being dealt with quickly and he shouldn’t miss too many Arsenal matches. But he will miss the forthcoming international matches with England.”

What I feared. Hopefully, the 'procedure' goes well, and Walcott has no setbacks. However, I seem to recollect that setbacks are quite common with these types of injuries.

Again, Speedy? Where the fuck are you when we need you?! What is the bloody use of a physio on the forum if he doesn't keep up with constant updates regarding our players' injuries? :gah:

Theo out is a big blow. Even when he's off his game, we need someone making the type of runs he does and I'm worried with only players like Wilshere and Gnabry out wide, we're going to struggle. We need runners.

If we want to be champions we got to overcome injuries throughout the season.

Winners brush this off and move on.

The more Wenger makes playing so many games a bigger issue the more injuries and tiredness will set in.

This feels like the problems we had from around 2008-2010 all over again. We just have to make it to the next international break alive.

Physioroom has Walcott returning 19th October at this point, so another three weeks. Quite a major blow in my opinion - on the other hand, it will mean he avoids international duty so that's a plus.

At least we can hope he's back for the gauntlet of matches in early November.

It's a huge blow but there was at least backup for him in the form of Ox and perhaps even Cazorla who could move across from the left and Podolski who would then go onto the left, maybe even Rosicky if needed. They just all happen to be out at the same time which is dreadfully unlucky. Not having another striker may prove unforgiveable when Giroud goes down however.

Just think it's unlikely any player will be available for 100% of the games. Especially one who has no backup so has to play every 90 minutes, at least in the league/CL. He looked shot towards the end of the Stoke game but having the midweek game off should have helped.
