It does make you wonder what AMN’s gameplan is. He is a player who could be anything he wants on this team. He’s choosing to unseat Mkhitaryan and hold off Nelson. And that’s assuming no further entries at right midfield. Seems a risky strategy.
I would’ve thought right back would make more sense. Emery has clearly made fullback a priority position. This team could benefit from being able to rotate as Tottenham has done in recent years to great effect. Why not fight it out with Bellerin? He’d also probably get more of the ball from there and bolster his development.
His decisioning feels short-termist.
