Pretty much every reliable source, including Orny, has confirmed there's no option to buy. There is a story that if we decide it's for the best, it could be extended for another season. 5 months probably isn't enough time for him to really establish himself and develop, so many another year wouldn't be too bad unless we're seriously considering him for a major role next year.

It's a shame for Nketiah, I wonder why that fell through. He desperately needs the game time.

Out of our talented youth coming through, the two I’m worried about losing are Daley-Campbell and Xavier Amaechi. Daley-Campbell is refusing to sign a contract and has been linked with Bundesliga clubs, a very talented RB who would be involved in the first team now If he wasn’t refusing the deal I’d imagine.

Xavier has been very unlucky with injury, I watched England u17s at the tournament last summer and he was by far our best player (they’d have won the tournament if he didn’t get suspended for the SF imo) he’s even better than Saka. If he didn’t get that bad injury before Xmas I think he’d have been getting the hype Saka has been getting. Just hope he doesn’t feel left out as he’s also been linked with a Bundesliga move.

It's one of those great saves that you still can't help but think still looks a little dodgy with the way it bounces up and lands in the six yard box. That being said he was voted MotM I understand. I think he said he's been told that he's going to be our No.2 next season.

I hope Reading/another team buy Martinez and the club sign a goalkeeper good enough to provide Leno with serious competition next season.

Meh. Maybe in the ideal world but given the issues elsewhere I'm not so keen to spend money on a backup GK. And honestly anyone who comes in that isn't good enough to immediately displace Leno probably won't be good enough either anyway.

we've been linked with a player of a similar age and profile (6'4"+ former striker) that's getting real games in the bundesliga for leipzig: ibrahima konaté. all these young english players should be trying to figure out how they can get out of the country ASAP. premier league 2 or a championship loan ain't it.

Excitement for our youth team and prospects has certainly faded in the last few months. Is that normal, in that interest wanes as the season progresses? Or have our youngsters stalled out with ESR's injury, no loan for Nhektiah and Nelson riding the bench....?
