I don't want to sound controversial, but I think Eduardo is/was massively overrated by our fans. Dunno why really, probably because of that performance against Everton? (which was in no way representative of his performances). Or his horrific injury? Can't tell.

No, but he was most def a striker, and one of the most brilliant ones I've seen in Premier League to boot. A modern nine isn't exactly a traditional centreforward either, although some players can perform in that role too.

Anyway, Giroud, who is over 6 foot and slow, badly needs some back-up.
Nothing new in saying that I know, but he seems to be physically ailing more, and I'm wondering if Wenger is seriously planning on using Theo in the centre soon.
He's fast and under 6 foot so that's allowed.

Seriously, if Walcott knew how to move off the ball he'd be a decent option at #9, but whenever he's played there his movement has been absolute rubbish. His performance against Bayern at Emirates scarred me for life.

It's merely a requirement, it doesn't mean all tall or pacey players would make top PL strikers.

I've also met Alan Shearer, and he ain't 6ft. Second half of his career he'd lost all his pace. Was pretty decent iirc.

Hughes always played in a 442 though, did he not? I've said Eduardo was class playing with Ade. Just have severe doubts he'd be much good playing as the '1' in a 4231.

There was that guy at Arsenal too. Berg... something. Barely 6 ft and slow as an ant in his last six seasons but he played some of the best football of his career. Unless we're going to start calling him an attacking midfielder all of a sudden just to get with the times.
