Ozil and Mertesacker will not be traveling to Munich to meet their national team as they have a flu. They’ll stay in London [@BILD_Sport]

Looks like Özil might have been affected by the bug aswell in addition to Rosicky, Per, Arteta and Gnabry.

that's what Ozil needs to learn in the PL. You need that extra ounce of desire. He'll no doubt learn tho. After the umpteenth clatter since ElHadji Diouf tramped over him, Kosh realised this eventually and just got better and better.

When are we going to see the Wilshere-Ramsey midfield pairing again? It's the pairing I'd like to see at this club long term. Is it feasible? Can the two of them up their tactical game and discipline enough to make it work?

If not, why was Flamini handed a 3 year contract? Arteta is 32 soon and Flamini 30, surely we can't go into next season with one of those as first choice. If we sign a player for that position we'd have 3 players for 1 role, plus Ramsey, Wilshere, and Chamberlain for another slot in the middle.

Because he's useful, but he came on a free so he demanded better terms than he might have got otherwise.

Carrick is 32 and top notch. The pivote position is one that good players can play well into their thirties in.

Carrick can pass the ball and play football. Flamini is not a 'pivote'.

He got on the end of the ball against Stoke in the air and wasn't afraid then.

You might be right, only seen it once. He doesn't seem the sort who would take a whack for the team but we knew that when we signed him.

Same guy who "broke" the flu news yesterday has said this: SIX Arsenal players were hit with a flu yesterday. At least 4, are guaranteed starters Mertesacker, Rosicky, Özil, Arteta, Gibbs, and Gnabry.

If Arteta and Ozil were down with the flu, then this could help explain things.
I will assume Ramsey contracted the bug on the way into Old Trafford.

There was nothing perplexing about Giroud's performance. He's just limited.
