My dad played with Wrighty for a few months at Greenwich Borough.

First full match i saw Wright play was in the FA cup final against Man U when he was brought on by the Palace manager in desperation at 2:1 down as he had been injured and wasnt match fit. He equalised with a fantastic goal and took the match to extra time which the bastards inevitably won. At the time, i lived in Crofton Park, Brockley where he was born and everyone round there was so proud of the guy, i temporarily developed a soft spot for Palace till they got promoted and i encountered one particularly annoying supporter of theirs and was glad they were eventually relegated to the backwaters where they belong

That was the 1990 final, it ended up 3-3 with Wrighty actually came on to equalise and then put them ahead but Utd equalised again and won the replay 1-0.
Fergie was on borrowed time at this stage and this trophy saved his bacon, the rest is history......

He made quite an impact in that game and I was obviously very disappointed with the result so I remember it.

I love FA cup finals I'm a bit old fashioned that way.
