Showed great promise in the season before last, hasn't kicked on from there, but a big part of that was down to Vermaelen's return from injury. I've given him a fair bit of stick in the last 12 months, but when his head's on right he's a damn good centreback. Fourth choice and a homegrown player, can't really argue with that, can we?
