The goal isn't actually very difficult to score. I've scored a similar one in a 6 a side indoor game. It's a reliance on instinct and anticipation of poor positioning by the defender. Also depends on the pace of the incoming pass. All that has got to be perfect to pull off the flick.

Bergkamp's is special for me because the ball comes to his "wrong" foot and he really isn't set up for it. Genius bit of improvisation and skill.

Yup. Just poking it one side of a defender with back to goal, then going the other doesn't really stack up against what Bergkamp did. 🙂

I can easily see someone replicating the Bergkamp goal at some point. The parameters for improvisation are much fewer.

Wilshere's goal is the best I've ever seen, a lot of improvisation, perhaps some fortune, but technical proficiency by two players that is out of this word. And the composure after a few hectic seconds to finish it. Awesome.

His second half performance for me has been his best in an Arsenal shirt. He took responsibility for all our attacking moves and showed his true class. He keeps performing like that and I will have absolutely no complaints about him.

I think he has been more effective in many previous games, for us, so i cannot say that this was his best performance.
All he did more, in this game, was pick up the slack of ugly work that our other midfielders seemed incapable of performing due to the oppositions quality high pressing. All credit to them and their manager!
