Here's what Adams has said recently:
- He'd like to be on the board instead of Chips Keswick (can't see the harm)
- The club isn't ready for Wenger's departure (he couldn't know this, but perhaps it's true)
- The club should be readying itself for the possibility of Wenger's departure (I agree, but if Wenger intends to go, this is possibly well in hand)
- Rooney is a good player at United, but wouldn't thrive in London (I happen to agree)
I doubt Adams knows how to operate in the social echelon from which our board appears to draw itself (toffs, Oxbridge graduates, waning top tier businessmen, and our owners) so perhaps he would be a bull in a china shop. But I don't think the variety would necessarily do harm.
I don't think he's a particularly bright bloke, but I also happen to think that his public statements from outside the club would be unlikely to continue if he joined the board.
If what he says is true, and the club didn't deign to respond to him when he suggested himself for the board, either he must've done a terribly shit job of it, or it's not to their credit at all.
