Biggus, surely the trend in the last 10 years or so is what's relevant to how to be successful in football? You're the first to say 'football has changed' since Wenger was last successful. With that in mind, only 3 of the last 10 winners in the CL have been defensive, counter attacking sides, and in two of those occasions, I'd argue those teams didn't have enough quality to even consider playing more attacking football, i.e. they were forced into that style in the same way smaller sides are against us.

You have to be smart Y va, if you commit players forward stupidly you will be punished, if you don't concede you can't lose this is the simple logistical reality of the game.
It a game of cat and mouse, chess, fencing, tempting out, feinting, if you charge out like the light brigade you'll be cut down like them.
There are a lot of flaws in your assumptions Biggus.
Fisrtly playing the sort of football you describe doesn't mean you don't concede and hence, it doesn't mean you can't lose.
Playing positive football doesn't mean you 'commit players forward stupidy', theres nothing stopping you committing players forward intelligently.
