What makes me mad about the club is that they knew the sponsorship deals were coming. They knew the tv deal were coming. Why not getting a couple of top players in this season instead of going through all this nonsense? I understand completely that they need to do it within their own means but if there ever was an opportunity to be proactive it was the last two transfer windows. We'll struggle for Champions League again for the remainder of the league now and Bayern tore us a new one in Europe. There's nothing exciting about this season anymore. Just a relatively big stake left on the table and the likes of Giroud to make sure we don't lose it.

I'll tell you why, because they are steadfastly holding on to some strategy that they developed years ago and it didn't include spending money this season. Like everyone has always said, the strategy stands on Wenger's shoulders and this is a problem because it is too much for one man to carry.

It's very brave of them, I'll give them that.

70m cash for transfers and fees. Wages are a running cost, so it doesn't make sense to talk about them as coming for the same pool of money.

If we don't get 4th and they extend Arsene's contract there will be a riot.
Even if we get 4th it's pushing it. Think Arsene is too smart. As Capi said they'll have to spend big quickly to tame the fans. THen get a good start, and on the back of a couple of victories renew his contract if he wants to.
We may have to put Biggus on suicide watch though if that happens.

We've heard this over and over since about 2008. To be fair to the club, they're always going to defend their own interests; it'd be irrational not to do so.

Arsene looks and acts burnt out and weary to me, too late now for promises of big transfer funds the damage is too deeply done.
If we're going to spend to that degree in the summer we need a fresh start, new manager, new vision for the team

I do not want wenger sinking 70m on bargain basement signings worth 10m. Let's face it he will not spend and he will not buy the right quality or quanitity of players which is required. No point thinking he will change his ways when he is still talking about having a quality squad.
