The most realistic scenario is that Wenger has been in a very intense battle with Madrid for weeks with Higuain, because we bid 22m and they want 22.1m

That's the single biggest issue. The personality side I could take or leave if I thought he'd be coming here to commit himself to Arsenal for the rest of his career. He wouldn't.

I really don't want to see this man in an Arsenal uniform. After years of abusing him, berating Liverpool supporting acquaintances for cheering a despicable creature like him and just generally being disgusted by his vile behaviour, it will be make me cringe having to enjoy a goal scored by him. I hope this story is untrue but it doesn't look like it.

rather have higuain, who may be less versatile/creative, but at least you know he'll keep his head down and get on with it.

Well, the answer is almost certainly 'Ronaldo, Neymar & Messi', which pretty much puts every other striker in the world in play. So it answers the original point - unless you think Suarez is the third best striker in the world (and unless you're a lobotomised scouser, you don't), there are plenty of alternatives to this guy. Probably even ones with better footballing track-records, and free of rabies.

Cavani and Falcao would be just out of reach at £40m as well, I'd say.

Think Cavani would move for around the £40m mark, and Falcao alread has (though figures on his transfer fee differ wildly).

Either way, £40m is comfortably enough to buy us a seat at the table in negotiations for any striker that might hit the market this summer.

Well, it's ballpark. But both are probably more devastating and productive than Suarez particularly for our requirements.

The issue there would be wages.

Most reports have Cavani moving to PSG for around 60 million euros and Falcao moving for around 50 million pounds.
